Heavy snowfall in northern California led to the closure of travel routes and stranded multiple tractor-trailers along Interstate 80 near Truckee.

A 70-mile stretch of the interstate, located west and north of Lake Tahoe, was shut down on Sunday night due to the extreme weather conditions.

Reports indicate that the mountains received as much as 7 feet of snow, exacerbating the travel challenges and prompting authorities to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of motorists.
