A truck driver and a Florida State Trooper lost their lives last week in a crash during a high-speed police chase.
The incident occurred on Friday, Feb. 2, on Interstate 95 in Port St. Lucie, when the trooper pursued a reckless driver.
The fleeing suspect made an illegal turn, causing the trooper to follow and collide with an oncoming tractor-trailer.
The trucker died at the scene, while Trooper Zachary Fink passed away after being taken to a local hospital.
The suspect fled on foot after hitting a tree but was later apprehended. Michael Addison, a 30-year-old resident of Broward County, faces 12 charges.
The identity of the deceased trucker has not yet been disclosed by authorities.
